The proposed SoHo BID located in Lower Manhattan, comprised of an area of approximately 12 block-fronts, or approximately 280 taxlots, defined by both sides of Broadway, from East Houston to Canal Streets Houston.
Since its inception in 2008, the proposed BID plan for SoHo's Broadway has accomplished many steps. The BID Planning Timeline presents the work tasks associated with the BID planning process under the guidance of NYC Small Business Services. The BID Legislative Approval Timeline is currently underway.
On November 20, 2012, the Finance Committee of the NYC City Council held an oversight public hearing on the BID proposal for SoHo's Broadway. Thanks to all who attended and participated in having their voice heard.
On February 27, 2013, the Finance Committee of the NYC Council set the date for the legislative hearing for the BID proposal.
The legislative public hearing took place on March 13, 2013 and on October 10, 2013, the Finance Committee unanimously approved the BID Plan for SoHo's Broadway. On October 23,2013, Mayor Bloomberg signed the SoHo BID plan into law. Start-up steps to follow with operations expected in Spring 2014.
